First of all, Happy Birthday Rion! Last year me and my GF took almost the same trip as you, just reverse. 😃 Hakone-Yumoto, Gora, Owakudani then the pirate ship was our tour. I might consider staying there with my Ohana (family) next time. Sorry you got a bad room 💩the first time but at least they changed you to a better room. I stayed at the Fujiya hotel the first time I went to Hakone several years ago. It was a nice, classic hotel from maybe Taisho era. It reminded me of the Moana on Waikiki beach. One of the staff was a manager trainee from its sister hotel in Hawaii. They have an exchange training program. I stay up way too late binge watching your super interesting videos! Looking forward to part 2! Cheers!

On my first trip to Japan in 2012 my friend took me out to Hakone and it was awesome. SO last year I decided to make the trip by myself from Tokyo, alone. It was a long day but it was really cool to navigate all that way by myself and just enjoy the trip. Also, Happy birthday!

Rion, never use a hotel/public usb wall port. They can be easily tampered with by hackers, then you are plugging your device directly into it; giving direct access to the device. Always use a wall plug adapter.

Rion, happy birthday! My wife and I have been watching your videos. However, this video is the most intriguing because we did the same last year where our train was cancelled from gotamba to shinjuku. We ended up at matsuda, transferred to odakyu kine and took local train to shinjuku.
